History

With an academic background in art history, museum studies and architecture, Monica’s professional career began with ten years working in the fields of museum public programs, new audience development, and exhibition design and fabrication. She has been contracted by national and international museums such as the California Academy of Sciences, Getty Center, North Carolina State Museum of Natural History, American Museum of Natural History, Chicago Field, Papalote: Museo del Nino, California State Archives Museum, the Holocaust Museum, Audubon Zoo, and Henry Ford Museum of Flight, among many others.

Monica’s successful relationships with nonprofit clients, familiarity with designs for public spaces, and the community-building aspects of audience cultivation led her to a passion for crafting special events. In the spring of 2003 she launched, and has been serving great causes in the years since. She facilitated the creation of the Environmental Non-Profit Network and directed all events taking place at Fort Mason during United Nations World Environment Day 2005. Monica is a Trustee and the Vice President of Marketing and New Audience Development for the
Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (the de Young and Legion of Honor), and serves Global Green’s San Francisco Committee.
